Field Verification Excellence for Audit, Lending and Workforce Risk Management

In media measurement, financial services and corporate hiring, business decisions are only as reliable as the information behind them. The question every organisation in these sectors must answer before acting is simple: does what is on record actually exist on the ground?

Calibehr was engaged by leading organisations across all three sectors to answer that question through structured field visits, trained ground teams, and disciplined reporting. Three processes formed the core of this engagement: Household Audit Verification for BARC India, Contact Point Verification for FlexiLoan, and Corporate Background Verification for candidate screening. Each carried different risks and requirements, but all shared one objective: close the gap between what was declared and what was real, before it became a problem.

The Challenge

When physical verification is skipped, the consequences are direct. Loans are approved against addresses that do not exist. Audience ratings are influenced by households paid to watch specific channels. Employees are hired on the strength of qualifications they never earned. In every case, a decision was made on information no one had confirmed.

Calibehr's clients needed a partner who could verify information on the ground, consistently and at scale, with the rigour to make every finding reliable. For BARC India, this meant validating household-level audit data before it entered the measurement cycle. For FlexiLoan, it meant checking applicant addresses and businesses before loan approval. For corporate clients, it meant screening candidates thoroughly across both pre- and post-hiring stages without slowing down recruitment.

BARC India : Household Audit Verification

BARC India measures television viewership through hardware installed in designated households. This data drives the ratings that shape advertising decisions across India's television industry. The system is vulnerable to manipulation; some households are paid to keep specific channels running, artificially inflating their ratings and distorting the data the industry depends on.

Calibehr field teams visited BARC-designated households, conducted structured interviews, and assessed whether viewing behaviour was genuine. Teams were trained to spot clear signs of manipulation, the most common being a household that speaks only one regional language consistently rating a channel broadcast in a completely different one. Every visit followed a defined checklist and all findings were submitted to BARC India as formal reports.

Where internal reviews identified gaps in field-level understanding, Calibehr conducted targeted retraining before the next deployment. This commitment to continuous improvement produced a direct result: the subsequent audit cycle was fully accepted by BARC India. Across all cycles to date, Calibehr has completed audits across 1,100 households.

FlexiLoan : Contact Point Verification

Before a loan application moves to credit approval, FlexiLoan requires physical confirmation that the applicant's declared details are accurate. A wrong address, a business that does not exist, or a shop that has been shut for months are not minor discrepancies; they are credit risks that need to be caught before funds are disbursed.

Calibehr Field Executives visited applicant-declared locations and verified three things: whether the residential address was real and the applicant traceable there, whether the declared business premises physically existed, and whether the business was actively operating at the time of the visit. Each completed report went directly into FlexiLoan's approval process before any disbursement decision was made.

Of every 100 profiles verified, approximately 50 show a ground-level discrepancy. That figure is not a reflection of process failure, it is proof that the verification is working. Every flagged profile is a credit risk identified before it became a loss. Calibehr processes 1,400 to 1,500 such profiles every month, and FlexiLoan has expanded the verification mandate from 6,000 to over 19,000 pin codes Pan India, a threefold increase that reflects the client's confidence in the quality and consistency of Calibehr's field execution.

"Your commitment, seamless coordination, and timely execution have truly made a remarkable impact. A special note of thanks to our FEs on the ground your dedication, hands-on support, and proactive problem-solving have been instrumental in making this achievement possible. This reflects true teamwork, accountability, and excellence, and sets a strong benchmark for everyone."

Corporate Background Verification

Hiring the wrong person carries two kinds of risk. Before joining, a candidate may misrepresent their qualifications, address, or identity. After joining, undisclosed legal records or court cases can surface as compliance and security concerns. Addressing only one of these stages leaves the other unguarded.

Calibehr's Background Verification programme covers both. In the Pre-Hiring phase, field personnel visited declared addresses, verified Aadhaar and KYC documents against stated particulars, and confirmed academic qualifications directly with issuing institutions. This phase is designed to catch identity mismatches, false credentials, and documentation irregularities before a hiring decision is made. In the Post-Hiring phase, the process extended to court record checks and official police station verification, surfacing any legal history the candidate had not disclosed.

Of every 100 candidates screened, approximately 2 are found to have discrepancies, falsified certificates, incorrect address details, or adverse legal records. While the rate is low, the potential impact of missing even one such case in a sensitive role is significant. All reports were delivered within a 5-day turnaround, keeping client hiring timelines on track without compromising the quality of the screening.

Results

Calibehr has audited 1,100 BARC India households across all cycles, with the audit following internal retraining fully accepted by the client. For FlexiLoan, 1,400 to 1,500 profiles are verified every month, with half of all field visits surfacing a discrepancy that directly informs the credit decision. Geographic coverage has grown from 6,000 to over 19,000 pin codes Pan India. Across Background Verification engagements, discrepancies are identified in approximately 2 out of every 100 candidates screened, with all reports completed within a 5-day turnaround.

Conclusion

What makes field verification valuable is not the visit itself, it is the quality of what is reported when the visit is done. Calibehr's work across all three engagements is grounded in that principle. The field executive who checks the address, confirms the business, and documents what is actually present is the most important part of the process.

For BARC India, that produced audience measurement data the client could trust. For FlexiLoan, it stopped credit risk before it became credit loss. For corporate clients, it caught candidate discrepancies before they became organisational problems. Across every engagement, what Calibehr delivered was not a form submitted, it was a decision made in fact.
